Privacy Policy

Ingest Air collects no data whatsoever. The app is built without the network entitlement, which means macOS and iOS will not permit it to make a network request of any kind. There is no server to send anything to, no account to create, and no analytics of any sort.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. We have no way to do so: the app has no network access, and there is no backend service behind it.
Your documents
The documents you open stay on your device. Specifically:
- You choose a file through the system file picker. Ingest Air can only read files you explicitly select — it has no general access to your storage.
- The extracted text, the generated summary, and any questions and answers are stored in the app's private container on your device.
- The app keeps a reference to the original file so it can resume interrupted work. It never copies, moves, modifies, or deletes your original files.
- Deleting a document from your library removes the app's stored copy of the text and summary. Your original file is untouched.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
How summaries are generated
Summaries and answers are produced by Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device foundation model, running locally on your hardware. Your document text is passed to that on-device model. It is not sent to us, and it is not sent to any third party by this app.
Apple Intelligence is a feature of your operating system, and Apple's own privacy terms govern it. Ingest Air uses only the on-device model and does not use Private Cloud Compute or any other server-based processing.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
There are none. Ingest Air contains no analytics SDK, no advertising, no crash reporting service, and no tracking of any kind. It does not use cookies, device identifiers, or the Advertising Identifier, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
Third parties
Ingest Air includes one third-party open-source component, ZIPFoundation, used locally to read EPUB files. It is a library compiled into the app, not a service: it sends nothing anywhere. No other third party receives any data.
Children's privacy
Ingest Air does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. There is no sign-up, no profile, and no data collection to restrict.
Your rights
Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose or erase. The data the app creates lives on your device and is entirely under your control — you can delete any document from within the app, or remove everything by deleting the app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a future version of the app ever collects anything at all, that change will be described here before it ships.
